ACCESSIBLE / ACCESIBIBLITY ADA INFORMATION

It is the full intent of the Orpheum Theatre to meet or exceed the specific standard requirements for people with disabilities. The Orpheum continues to make improvements to meet and exceed the American with Disability Act (ADA) Standards.

Accessible Seating: Wheelchair accessible seating is available at all ticket prices. Guests requiring wheelchair accessible and companion seating should notify the ticket seller at the time of purchase. Additional companion seating may be available based on seat availability. Accessible seating is available at the Box Office, by calling 712-279-4850 or purchase directly through Ticketmaster.com by selecting the accessibility tab under the “filters” option for your preferred event.

(AED) AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR LOCATIONS

The Orpheum Theatre is equipped with an automated external defibrillator (AED), which can save lives in the event of sudden cardiac arrest. In the event of an emergency, please notify the nearest staff member for assistance.

ANIMAL POLICY

Animals or pets of any kind are prohibited with the exception of trained service animals and service animals in training for guest with disabilities. The Orpheum Theatre does meet the specific standard requirements for the Americans with Disabilities Act/Service Animals. Service animals are welcome inside the building but must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

Guests are not permitted to bring alcohol into the facility, nor are they permitted to leave with it. Iowa and Federal Law prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of twenty-one (21). Therefore, guest are required to show proper identification and proof of age when purchasing alcoholic beverages at the Orpheum Theatre. The number of alcoholic beverages served may be limited to two (2) drinks per person, per purchase. Management reserves the right to refuse service to guests who appear intoxicated or who are disturbing other guests. Beer sales are discontinued approximately forty-five (45) minutes before the end of the event. We encourage guests to drink responsibly and not to drive after drinking.

ASSISTED LISTENING DEVICES

Assisted listening devices are available at the box office for hearing-impaired guests at no cost. The assisted listening device is a headset that broadcasts the Orpheum Theatre sound system on an FM frequency. All guests will be required to leave a valid form of identification in order to use the equipment. It is encouraged to make arrangements with the box office prior to the performance.

The Orpheum Theatre will make available the use of sign language interpreters. Because sign language interpreter requests typically require two weeks advance notice of a ticketed event for scheduling purposes, requests for an interpreter should be made as far in advance of the event as possible. To make such a request, please contact the box office at 712-279-4850 ext. 6.

ATMS

There is an ATM located inside Momo’s available to patrons during events. Debit and credit cards are accepted at all main floor and second floor Orpheum bars, as well as Momo’s.

BANNERS & SIGNS

Banners and signs are permitted as long as they do not block the view of others, interfere with the event, contain advertising of any form, present a safety hazard or contain political or obscene material. Banners may not be affixed with any type of material that is permanent in nature or that alters the facility in any manner. Poles and sticks are prohibited. Building management reserves the right to remove any banner or sign. Signs may also be prohibited, if requested by the event.

BOX OFFICE / PURCHASING TICKETS

Tickets for events at the Orpheum Theatre may be purchase at the following authorized points of sale:

  • Online at Ticketmaster.com
  • In advance of event date at the Primebank Box Office located inside the South Entrance of the Tyson Events Center (Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm)
  • Day of the event at the Orpheum Box Office. (Open show day only for four hours leading up to curtain time. Orpheum Box Office Phone Number: 712-244-5000)

For questions regarding ticketing, please call 712-279-4850. Please be advised that the Orpheum Theatre cannot guarantee the authenticity of tickets obtained through any other source or secondary market. Counterfeit and other invalid tickets will not be honored by the Orpheum Theatre. The reselling of any Orpheum Theatre tickets, at any price, on the property is strictly prohibited. Guests engaging in such activity may be escorted off the premises.

Forms of payment accepted: Cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

BUYER BEWARE

 

Should you opt to purchase tickets from a source other than those listed above, please keep in mind the following;

  • Admission is not guaranteed if tickets are invalid.
  • Tickets cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
  • The Orpheum Theatre cannot contact you with information regarding time changes, show cancellations, or other pertinent information.

Tickets are good only for the event for which they are purchased and only for the seat for which they are issued. Tickets are not transferrable. Tickets are limited revocable licenses which may be revoked at the sole discretion of the Orpheum Theatre.

Ticket on-sale times are always Central Standard Time (CST) unless otherwise noted.

CAMERAS & RECORDING DEVICES

For most events, at the request of the artists and/or leagues, small point & shoot cameras are allowed. Professional cameras (specifically cameras with professional/detachable lenses and flash) are not permitted. The Orpheum Theatre reserves the right to examine and prohibit the use of any camera that conflicts with the policy set by the event.

Audio recorders, video recorders and digital cameras with video capabilities are prohibited during all events.

CANCELLED OR POSTPONED EVENTS

In the event a performance is cancelled or rescheduled, information is immediately sent to the local media for distribution and placed on the Orpheum Theatre website. We will also send an email to the database of purchasers for that event, if contact information was provided at time of purchase.

If an event is cancelled, refunds will be available at the original point of purchase. If the event is rescheduled, tickets purchased for the original date will be honored at the new date. In most cases, refunds will also be available at the original point of purchase up until the new date has passed.

Tickets purchased with a credit card will be refunded to the original card used to purchase the tickets. The Orpheum Theatre is not responsible for tickets purchased through unauthorized sources.

CELL PHONES

Cellular phones are permitted provided their use does not prevent other guests from enjoying the event. The use of camera and video features may be restricted if requested by the event.

CHILDREN’S ENTRY

Children twenty-four months and older must have a ticket in order to gain entrance to events at the Orpheum Theatre. Children under twenty-four months of age may enter without a ticket but must sit on their parent or guardian’s lap.

PLEASE NOTE: some events will require all attendees regardless of age to present a ticket for entry into the Orpheum Theatre. Please check the event’s ticket policies at the time of purchase.

CLEAR BAG POLICY

  • Clear bags are required to enter the facilities for all events. Clear bags may not exceed 12x12x6 inches in size.
  • Non-clear small wallets, clutches, wristlets, fanny packs, etc. are permitted if they do not exceed 7.5x5 inches and are subject to search.
  • Limit one bag per person.
  • Diaper bags or other medically necessary bags are permitted and will be subject to search.

CONCESSIONS

Light snacks, soft drinks, water, coffee, wine, beer, and spirits are available for purchase at select locations during the event. Menu subject to change. Additional “portable” stands may be open for select events.

Outside food and beverages, including water, are not permitted in the Orpheum Theatre.

Charities and other non-profit groups requesting donation or auction items from the Orpheum Theatre should submit a written request on their organizational letterhead to:

DOOR TIME

For most events, doors open one hour prior to the start time of the event. However, this can vary by event. For specific information, please check the event specific page on OrpheumLive.com.

ELEVATORS

There is an elevator located inside the Orpheum Theatre for patron use. Main level access is available inside the atrium lobby.

EMERGENCY EVACUATION

In the event of an emergency, please remain calm and walk to the nearest exit in an orderly fashion. Follow posted signs and listen to announcements for specific instructions. In some circumstances you will be directed to remain in the building and staff will direct you where to go. Please do not use elevators. If you are disabled, trained staff members will assist you in getting to safety.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

FIRST AID

Please contact Orpheum Theatre event staff if you or someone you are with has been injured. Event staff can call on site paramedics or will contact management if further treatment is needed.

GUEST CONDUCT

In order to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment we ask that while visiting the Orpheum Theatre guests be courteous to those around them and abide by building policies. Guests using foul or abusive language, behaving in an unruly manner or appearing intoxicated are subject to ejection and/or arrest.

HANDOUTS

The distribution of promotional items, handbills, fliers, pamphlets, printed materials, as well as the solicitation of signatures, is not permitted on Orpheum Theatre property without prior written authorization.

HOTELS

LOST CHILDREN OR COMPANIONS

Lost children should be escorted to the nearest officer or staff member. The lost child will be assisted at the box office. In the event that you become separated from your child or a member of your party, you will also want to contact the nearest officer or staff member.

LOST & FOUND

During an event, you may inquire about lost or found items at our box office. For inquiries following an event, please call 712-279-4850 during business hours. The Orpheum Theatre is not responsible for any lost or damaged items.

LOST TICKETS

All issues with lost tickets should be directed to the Box Office at 712-279-4850. Tickets should be treated like cash. There is no guarantee on replacing tickets. Replacement tickets may be subject to a reprint fee.

MERCHANDISE

Merchandise or novelty booths are available throughout the Orpheum Theatre at some events. Please ask an event staff member where stands are during your respective event.

PARKING

In addition to on-street and surface level parking within a 2-3 block radius of the theatre, The Martin Luther King, Jr. Transportation Parking Garage is located just east of the theatre entering from 6th Street.

PLATINUM SEATS

Platinum Seats are premium tickets to concerts and other events made available by artists and event providers. They give fan fair and safe access to some of the best seats in the house. Platinum Seat options will be available during time of ticket purchase.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

We ask all guests to arrive early and travel light, as you may be subject to search, which includes metal-detecting upon entry. For safety reason, prohibited items include but are not limited to:

  • Alcohol, drugs, illegal substances or any paraphernalia associated with drug use
  • Animals (except certified service animals)
  • Audio/Video recorders, professional cameras, tripods
  • Cans, bottles, coolers or other similar containers
  • Electronic cigarettes / vape pens inside facility
  • Fireworks
  • Flags/Signs with poles
  • Laser pens/pointers of any type
  • Noisemakers such as air horns
  • Outside food or beverages
  • Oversized bags, backpacks, duffel bag
  • Pepper spray/Mace
  • Weapons of any type, including chains, knives, firearms and spiked jewelry (including permit to carry)
  • Any other item deemed unacceptable by event/building management

If an item is revealed during a search, patrons may dispose of the item or they may return the item to their vehicle. The Orpheum Theatre does not safeguard any personal belongings or items of any type.

RE-ENTRY

For your safety, once a person exits the Orpheum Theatre, re-entry is strictly prohibited. At non-ticketed events patrons will be asked to go back through security upon re-entering the building, if applicable.

RESTROOMS

Restrooms are located throughout Orpheum Theatre for your convenience and are accessible to persons with disabilities. The Orpheum Theatre also has family restrooms on each level of the theatre.

SECURITY MEASURES

Walk-through metal detectors are used at most events at the Orpheum Theatre. Cell Phones, keys, and RFID wallets will need to be removed and placed in a bowl before walking through the metal detectors. All bags and personnel are subject to search upon entry. Any person refusing search will not be admitted into the facility. These procedures are not a response to any specific threat, but rather in an effort to provide a safe and secure environment for guests with recommendations by national and local law enforcement officials.

Fans should keep the following in mind:

  • Minimize the number of personal items you bring to the venue.
  • Allow extra time for arriving to and entering the venue.
  • Guests will be asked to remove from their clothing and belonging any items that may trigger the alarm, including cell phones and keys, before they pass through the metal detector units.
  • All bags are subject to search.
  • If the metal detector alarm sounds, you will be subject to a secondary screening which may slow your entry into the venue.

SMOKING POLICY

Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted in all public areas at the Orpheum Theatre. A designated outdoor smoking area is available at all events.

SOLICITATION

The selling or sampling of merchandise, food, beverages, tickets or other items on the property without written Orpheum Theatre authorization is strictly prohibited. Scalpers will be subject to criminal trespass which can lead to arrest. Placing fliers on vehicles is strictly prohibited on Orpheum Theatre property.

STOLEN TICKETS

All issues with stolen tickets should be directed to the Box Office at 712-279-4850.

TICKET REFUNDS / EXCHANGES

There are no refunds or exchanges on all tickets. Customers can upgrade tickets for events when possible; however, this is not a guaranteed policy and is done at the sole discretion of the event promoter. If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, tickets may be refunded at the original point of purchase.

WILL CALL WINDOW

In order to pick up your tickets at the Box Office, please be aware of the following;

  • A government issued ID matching the name on the account, the credit card used for the purchase, and the confirmation number will be required to pick up tickets.
  • Tickets will be released only to the person whose name appears on the ticket envelope.
  • Guests must sign for the tickets.
  • Tickets or passes left by touring personnel typically arrive in the box office approximately one hour prior to the show. Unfortunately, box office personnel have no way of knowing who will be receiving tickets until they are delivered to the Box Office.
  • Will-call window will open 3 hours prior to the event.
